Dave MacDowell and Myself in front of our piece

I had the pleasure of hanging out with my friend and awesome painter Dave MacDowell at his featured artist show at Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City. I was honored to get to frame his piece called, "The Wrath of Veruca" in hand made Wonka Bars. I even made it a Golden Ticket that comes with the painting. It seemed like people were enjoying it.

Apocrita Rider

The Avatar of Apricot Mantle for Hiveland - 8 x 10 unframed, 16x21 framed Prismacolor pencil on archival board

Jesnia and her Apocrita Lowdekerra a Biomechanical Wasp cycleped ride the Heartlands together. She is known as the Lone wolf of the seeker clan of Apocrita riders. She takes pride in the fact that she can take care of herself even in the darkest times.

The sacred Apocrita and their riders are fueled by the Hiveland's honey. It is their life force and the power they get from it allows them to fly. The Hiveland's honey river is the main source, but it is the job of the Seeker Clan to scower the heartland in search of new supply resources.

The frame is made from an assemblage of motorcycle parts, and other odds and ends. It even lights up with 2 long lasting LED lights.

Update! SMod Show Pics

Went to SMart Show down at G1988 last night with my wife Jessica and got to hang out with Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes. The painting that Dave MacDowell did with the Frame I made got some great feedback from the patrons at the show. Everyone really seemed to get a kick out of it. Dare I say it was the most popular piece? hee hee. Well here are some pics I took of the people enjoying themselves at another kick asss opening at G1988 LA.

Pics from Babytattooville!

I had the privilege of joining Sketch Theatre at Babytattooville 2009. I had tons of fun meeting all the super talented artists taking part including: Gregg Craola Simkins, Liz Mcgrath, Audrey Kawasaki, Jeff Soto, Travis Louie, Yoskay Yamamoto, Gris Grimly, and Johnnie Rodriguez along with just being in the company of such other greats as Tim Biskup, Lola, Nathan Spoor, Nate Frizzell, Bob Dob, and Gary Baseman. Talk about an art OVERLOAD! Wow, it was really great, it took place in a wonderful place surround by even more wonderful scenery in the heart of Riverside California. Hope you enjoy the pics I took while I was there.

Later, Apricot

Baby Tattooville provides a unique opportunity for a few enthusiastic collectors (like yourself) to spend a weekend with an all-star lineup of celebrated artists. Without the time constraints of a typical personal appearance, or the crowd control issues of a standing-room-only event, artists and collectors will have a weekend-long opportunity to discuss and explore their mutual interests. Original work will be created and celebrated around-the-clock; no one will leave empty handed.

You can read more about it at these websites: arrestedmotion.com, dailydujour.com
